Why Plant Based?

Ever since I was little, I knew that eating less meat was better for the environment, and also better for our bodies. I was a vegetarian for over 5 years through high school and college, but then quit when I started to travel abroad, and honestly couldn’t be bothered to figure out how to navigate the plant based world in other countries.

I started eating meat, but always knew it wasn’t the best choice. It wasn’t until I really started researching not only the negative impacts of meat on our bodies, but the incredible benefits of eating more plants.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I’m not a full-time, vegan, plant eating human. Sometimes I eat cheese, or a burger if I’m at a place that boasts the best burger in the world. I like to travel and I like to experience cultures through food, but when at home, or whenever practical, I’ll opt for the plant-based option.

That’s one of the best things about eating plant based: you don’t have to do it all the time to get the benefits! Plants are good for you, the more that you add into your diet the better, but you don’t have to beat yourself up if your diet consists of other foods as well.

This blog will have 100% plant based recipes and options to make meals gluten free as well. I hope you enjoy and learn more about how you can add plants into your diet!
